FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Trisotech to Participate in “Veteran Care Without Boundaries” Demonstration at the HIMSS 20 Interoperability Showcase

Discover how open standards allow complex teams to make continuous improvements to care plans, such as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management, and ensure compliance throughout the process.

Montreal, Qc, Canada, March 4, 2020 — Trisotech (www.Trisotech.com) today announced that it would be participating in the ”Veteran Care Without Boundaries” demonstration alongside Perspecta, Red Hat, Microsoft, MDIX, CareNexus, Medical Algorithms, Motive and other partners at the Interoperability Showcase of the HIMSS 20 Global Health Conference and Exhibition. The partner coalition will demonstrate the future in healthcare technology and data interoperability through the power of open standards, applied to a real public health issue. According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, veterans have approximately 34% higher Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) prevalence than the general population.

About Veteran Care Without Boundaries

Healthcare can be a painful experience for all key participants: providers, payers, researchers, but mostly for patients. The financial impact associated with the current US health IT system is unsustainable, especially for a condition like Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). In fact, according to the United States Renal Data System, total Medicare spending on both CKD and kidney failure was over $120 billion in 2017 – representing more than 33% of total Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) spending. On top of that, sadly, each year kidney disease kills more people than breast or prostate cancer.

Early risk identification, mitigation and care coordination across boundaries are key elements to decelerate these out of control human and financial costs. However, true disease prevention relies on access to complete patient information that is now trapped behind innumerable barriers, including proprietary data models of legacy health IT products. What’s more, manual real-time feedback and process improvements to care plans can be challenging and can add administrative burden on providers.

The “Veteran Care Without Boundaries” demonstration will explore how technology can enable automated, instantaneous changes to existing care plans based on evolving patient data to ensure that veterans receive world-class care. The demonstration will walk attendees through actionable ways complex teams can leverage BPM+ Health and HL7 FHIR® standards to make continuous improvements to care plans while ensuring compliance throughout the process. Veterans’ journeys will be orchestrated in real time: identifying emerging risks and mitigating CKD impacts.

“We are delighted to participate with Perspecta in this interoperability demonstration, says Denis Gagné, Trisotech’s CEO and CTO. We are an active contributor to the Perspecta HealthConcourse platform that brings full-cycle BPM+ services to healthcare, from model development to implementation and automation and are thrilled to present a Veterans use case at HIMSS, the leading health information and technology event.”

Healthcare clinicians, informaticians, and executives from provider and payer organizations are invited to visit the demonstration vignette and witness this innovative approach at the Interoperability Showcase of HIMSS 20.
